Talofa All.

This is a brief note to ask you to remember in your prayers the soul of one of our Chanel College foundation students who passed away peacefully at his home in California yesterday morning.  He is Leonard Fido.  Born 13 Feb 1946, eldest son of Robert and Estelle Fido of Taufusi.  A good product of Marist Catholic Schools namely St Mary’s, Marist Brothers and Chanel (1962-64).  He worked as a draftsman at the Government of Samoa Lands and Survey Dept after graduating from Chanel. Leonard moved with Estelle and 4 children to USA in 1979.  He worked in California as an Electro-Mechanical Draftsman and recently as a Security Officer at the Toyota Headquarters in the city of Torrance, California. He also served in his community as a Lector and an Eucharist Minister as well as serving in a number of positions on various Catholic Ministries.  In June 2009, he was ordained Deacon.

He is survived by his wife Elisapeta (David), nine children and over twenty grandchildren.  Leonard is oldest brother of Fr Takito Fido at Onehunga and Panmure parishes.
May God have mercy on his soul and may he rest in peace.

Alofa atu,

Vui.
